Cops Suspecting of Street Racing Kill 2 Teens

ORANGE, Conn. (Nov. 18) - An arrest affidavit says a Milford police officer charged with manslaughter for a car crash that killed two teenagers was driving 94 miles per hour and was not on an emergency call.
State police earlier this month charged Jason Anderson with two counts of second-degree manslaughter and one count of reckless driving. He was released on $250,000 bond. Anderson, who has been suspended with pay, is due to be arraigned Nov. 24.

Police said 19-year-old David Servin and 19-year-old Ashlie Krakowski were killed in the June 13 crash.
Police released a videotape of the crash Tuesday that shows the car carrying the teens turning into the path of Anderson's cruiser, which slams into the car and sends debris flying. The New Haven Register and Connecticut Post requested the video.
The video was taken by the dashboard camera of another Milford cruiser, the papers said. That cruiser was driven by Officer Richard Pisani, who has not been charged but is on desk duty pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
Pisani was traveling at 65 mph but accelerated when Anderson's cruiser passes him on the right, the Register said. Pisani's maximum speed in the time frame shown on the video is 72 mph, the newspaper said.
The New York Post said there has been speculation that the two officers may have been racing when the crash occurred.

World’s First R35 Nissan GT-R Police Car On Duty in Abu Dhabi

Photobucket

In a country where exotic cars are (seemingly) as common as Camrys, the police are most certainly in need of a vehicle that can keep up. So the Abu Dhabi police service in the United Arab Emirates has just unveiled its secret weapon, a 485-hp Nissan GT-R.

Not much else is known about the car, but if you look around back you’re sure to notice the clever phrase, “We ensure you safety… in the fastest way.”

So it looks like we might be seeing a lot more Porsche GT2s pulled over on the side of the highway in Abu Dhabi.

$1.6 Million Bugatti Veyron Crashes Into Texas Lake!!!!!

Driving weather's been perfect in southeast Texas lately, so it's anyone's guess how this genius skipped his million-dollar-plus Bugatti Veyron off the road and right into a freaking lake. Despite the cost, Veyron's certainly aren't amphibious.

The YouTube video creator, exoticcar2009, claims:

"I recorded this 5 miles away from my house in Galveston County, Texas. We have a very rich neighborhood right next to the beach. I was stunned! Third or fourth Veyron Crashed :( A distracted owner of a Bugatti Veyron, one of the world's fastest production cars, accidently drove Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, into a lake in Galveston, Texas. The driver was uninjured, but the car, which can sell for around $2 million, was partially submerged in three feet of water."

From the Galveston Daily News:

The two-seater, with 16 cylinders and four turbo chargers, can reach speeds of more than 250 mph. New models sell for about $2 million.

The man, who refused to give his name, was looking at real estate in Galveston.

About 3 p.m. a low-flying pelican distracted him as he traveled north on Interstate 45 just south of the hurricane levee near Omega Bay.

The man jerked the wheel, dropped his cell phone, and the car's front tire left the frontage road and entered a muddy patch, which foiled his attempt to maneuver away from the lagoon.

The Veyron's powerful engine gurgled like an outboard motor for about 15 minutes before it died.
